William Seals

Picture made in Sept. 1994. The band started in the 40s and disbanded in the 90s. It ended because many members died and they could not get any new recruits. The band belonged to the Lions Club of Hampton, but it was very unusual for a Lions Club to have a band. The members were all volunteers. They had around 12 professional musicians and about 6 clowns. They made their own musical instruments. Nine former members are still living. The band had between 15-18 members at any one time. They would go on tour and their lodging, transportation, and meals were already paid for.
