Lillian Epps Johnson

  • Photo of oldest home (circa 1888) in Old North Hampton Community formerly owned by Mr. & Mrs. John Mackie Blue, great grandparents of Lillian Epps Johnson. In 1936, the home was sold to Charles and Pauline Epps (parents of Lillian Epps Johnson). The home remained in the family until 2001. The home was located at 23 Rip Rap Road, Old North Hampton.
  • Old North Hampton School (approx.1915-1940) – a one room school located on Rip Rap Road across from the present day 7-11. Two of the teachers were Mrs. Mollie Scott from Lincoln St and Mrs. Helene Phillips from Langley Field Road.
  • Lucy Ann Blue, GreatGrandmother of Lillian Epps Johnson , born in 1857 and died 1935.

  • Birth Certificate of Pauline Virginia Dismon, daughter of Charles Dismond and Essie Blue born on October 13, 1908, and mother of Lillian Epps Johnson. She was born in Elizabeth City County, North Hampton, Virginia, attended by Rosa Brown, Midwife.
  • Sign for Amateur Radio Station W3APT station call, owned and operated by Charles Epps, born in September 1908 and died July 1944. He was first black to own and operate an amateur radio station located in small sun porch from his home on Rip Rap Road. Photo of Charles Epps, father of Lillian Epps Johnson.
