William Smith Rubrecht

  • Rubrecht has two pictures of grandmother, Nina Crockett Smith. They were probably made in Cheyne's Studio. The one showing her on the phone was probably made in the 1920's.
  • Nina Crockett Smith and husband Edward Marvin Smith in a 1925 Buick, one of the first cars in Fox Hill. Not pictured Mr. Rubrecht had a photo of the 1937 Beach Market, the only original store left in Fox Hill. The other store is on Willow Road.
  • Photo of two uncles, William Smith Rubrect's mother's brothers, John Marshall Smith on the left, and Edward Marvin Smith Jr. on the right. They are at the Battle of the Bulge (Dec. 1944 - Jan. 1945). John Marshall Smith was one of the first pioneer chartered fishermen in this area. There was a big article in the paper on him in the 70s. Edward Marvin Smith Jr. flew 76 missions over Germany in WWII and got the Distinguished Flying Cross medal 50 years later.
